Welcome to the Oz

After a long ass flight of 15 hours I arrived safely to Sydney. People from school picked me and other students up which it was a great. I had the chance to meet a girl from Wisconsin, who I've only seen a couple of more times around campus and the different activities, but I think we are friends ( maybe ?)
We were taken to our different accommodations. The place I'm staying at is an house style place. The place it self is really nice, it kinda looks like a subdivision. The house has 5 rooms, 4 upstairs and one in the first floor, kitchen, living room and a dining room area.
I had to check in with the administration office so I could get my key and all that crap. I already know that I would be sharing my room with someone else so that was no surprise. The only thing was that I was not expecting the room to be so small, the room is just a single with an extra bed and desk. Which it kinda sucked but I mean but it's alright, I guess.

After leaving my suitcases and exploring a little bit the house area I went to the nearest shopping centre, which is dangerously* at 10 min walking distance, to buy some linens, utensils and all that jazz. I might add that the damn mall has literally everything an ice rink, bowling alley, laser tag, movies , a ton of stores and they even have an Aussie version of target. The whole shopping adventure ended around 3 ish and I'll be lying if I said that I wasn't falling asleep already. Like it was impossible not to after literally traveling 24 hours and the time difference my brain was like "yo leggo to sleep".
Around 4:30 pm I went to bed, after what I felt like forever, but really just until midnight, I woke up. I used that time to catch on to Facebook and chat with the good Swedish roomie (you da best). I fell asleep again but just like a nap time situation because my brain decided to wake up at 4:30 AM. By this point I realized that JETLAG IS A BITCH.

That pretty sums up my first day in Sydney, and the weekend pretty much went by the same I went to the mall just my daily walking exercise and woke up at very awkward times.

Stay tuned for the next Update about O-week ;)

Hello from the other side

WHY AM I DOING THIS ?

My best friend Alex suggested to write  a journal during my study abroad experience, but to be honest buying a notebook and write on it is not my thing. So I thought to do something different, first idea was making video diaries but it was soon dismissed because it would take me a lot of time to edit them and I have a roommate, which makes it more awkward that I have to talk to a camera everyday.

So here we are writing a blog was my last idea before giving up. In here I'll be sharing a little bit of my weekly adventures during my study abroad semester in Sydney, Australia.

Stay tuned for the first two posts...

Bye Felicia
